Nia is a form of movement that incorporates dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts into a comprehensive class that allows us, through movement, to become more intune with the essence of our true being. Nia classes are generally one hour in length. The teacher facilitates a moving experience for the class wherein there are set routines and free movement sections. Nia is about doing that which feels good to your body. You work at your own personal level making the moves as big or small as is appropriate for you at the time. The set moves are very basic and easy to learn. As you feel comfortable with the moves, there are a plethora of ways to spice it up.

I am currently on sabbatical from teaching Nia as my 2 children are my focus at the moment. I will return to teaching Nia ASAP.
